Direct Support Professional

Overview

Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Responsibilities

Provide daily living support to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Collaborate with individuals, families, and support networks to promote independence and community participation. Respect each person's rights and choices, and help them learn skills for personal growth and development.
