Job Summary: The Legal Analyst mines litigation data, revealing insights never before available about judges, lawyers, parties, and subjects of the cases themselves, culled from millions of pages of litigation information. These insights are earned via Legal Analytics®, which communicates meaningful patterns in data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, edit, code and annotate court documents for manual data enrichment to be captured by Lex Machina legal analytics product.
• Identify, analyze, code and annotate properties and findings, outcomes (including damages) for each case.
• Identify expert witnesses and build a detailed timeline linking briefs, motions, orders, opinions and other filings for every case.
• Maintain knowledge of U.S. laws and courts system; commit to continuously learn them.
• Communicate via email, video call and chat; provide effective written and verbal communication.
