Dietary Aide Permanent Parttime

Job Description

Reporting to the Dietary Manager, the Dietary Aide assists with food preparation and serving of meals, cleans eating, cooking, storage, serving areas and equipment, and follows established policies, procedures and standards.

Must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) within 6 months. Must also provide a TB test.

Work Schedule: On call + various hours (38 hours biweekly 7:30am‑1:15pm).

Responsibilities

• Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences, observing time limits for meal serving and maintaining foods at proper serving temperature.
• Assist cooks to clean and prepare uncooked foods such as salads, vegetables and fruits; prepare simple breakfast items, desserts and garnishes following basic instructions.
• Clear plates and trays, load and operate dishwasher, and clean pots, pans and cooking utensils as per procedure.
