We are looking for a DevOps/FinOps Engineer to join our technology team and take ownership of the reliability and cost efficiency of our data platform on Azure. This role will be responsible for keeping the platform running well and making sure we are spending on it intelligently. This role will not just track costs; it will bring concrete options to the table and work with data engineers and architects to implement them.
Key Responsibilities
- Reduce technical debt in infrastructure and deployment tooling and promote automation across the team.
- Support incident response and root cause analysis for platform reliability issues.
- Implement agreed cost optimisations directly or in collaboration with data engineers: cluster right-sizing, storage tier changes, scheduling adjustments and pipeline restructuring.
- Contribute to capacity planning and cloud budget forecasting alongside the IT Management Team.
