Design Manager, Gateway Program

Job Overview

The Design Manager for the Gateway Program, within the Engineering Management Centre of Excellence at Engineering Services Canada, will support the delivery of large-scale engineering services. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the role leads and coordinates the implementation of multidisciplinary design standards and works collaboratively with the main contractor throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre‑construction phase services, including planning, all design phases, site development, permitting, and procurement support.
• Serve as the primary client interface at multiple levels and all project phases.
• Manage design consultancy agreements to meet technical specifications, schedules, and cost targets.
• Facilitate design reviews and coordinate input from stakeholders to ensure timely and effective feedback.
