Overall Purpose of Job
- Perform Database Administration functions with administrator rights
- Perform Release Management and Version Control function
- Support both BAS production environment users and the development environment on DB2 for z/OS, MVS and CICS. Provide reports and recommendations to supervisor and management, on system performance and improvements.
- Provide guidance to developers on sql coding. Report risks and Database unavailability to Supervising DBA.
Main Responsibilities / Tasks
Day-to-Day Activities
- Authorization of TSO user-ids and granting of the relevant privileges to specific tables within certain production departments' databases.
- Monitoring of production reports to ensure that all scheduled reports not exceed the agreed execution time and to improve the throughput of reports on the BAS system.
- To provide support to end users of the MVS environment.
