Data User Support Engineer (RE1) – Earth Sciences Department, BSC (Barcelona Supercomputing Center). Starting date: ASAP. Full‑time contract (35 h/week) – open‑ended.
Responsibilities
Maintain user support for data download and formatting of the department.
Manage centralized data downloads and formatting in the department archive following international standards (GRIB, NetCDF, CDMs from Climate Data Store, Earth System Grid Federation, etc.).
Operate data pipelines for subseasonal to decadal timescales and contribute to tool improvement.
Use the department ticketing system to handle requests from scientists.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
