Counsellor Post Trauma Program

Position Summary

As part of the Trauma Program, the counsellor will provide therapeutic interventions to people impacted by interpersonal trauma. Counsellors strive to provide a safe and healing space to assist individuals/groups with their healing journey using a Strength Based, Person Centred and Holistic approach. This position directly reports to the Manager of Counselling Services.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in the social sciences, graduate degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years full-time direct experience providing in-person counselling for individuals in a supervised clinical setting
• Experience facilitating group counselling
• Knowledge of solution focused and brief therapy models
• Thorough knowledge of trauma, intergenerational trauma and complex trauma
• Demonstrative understanding of intimate partner violence and the impact on individuals and family dynamics, suicide loss, crisis interv...
