Client is a DataCenter looking for a Cost Engineer (mandarin speaker) to be based out of Kuala Lumpur or Johor Baru.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for direct supply items (MEP)
- Benchmark costs against industry standards, historical data, and market intelligence.
- Support value engineering exercises by comparing alternative designs/materials.
- Work with procurement to validate supplier quotations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare cost breakdowns for management approval and board presentations.
- Track actual vs estimated costs and provide variance analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 5+ years in MEP costing or installation costing for data centres, industrial plants, or large-scale infrastructure.
