Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of staves, hoops, and other barrel components.
- Learn to use hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Support Coopers with barrel assembly, charring/toasting, and repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area in line with workshop standards.
- Participate in on-the-job training, workshops, and assessments.
- Handle materials, barrels, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Observe and comply with health, safety, and quality standards always.
- Actively participate in TPM activities.
- Comply with all instructions and training requirements.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Physically fit and able to handle physically demanding work (heavy lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
