Job Overview
Controls Engineer – responsible for technical support and development of automated systems in an automotive manufacturing environment. The role includes maintaining existing equipment, designing new control solutions, commissioning equipment, troubleshooting on‑site, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support critical failures and eliminate bypass conditions in inline machines.
- Maintain and improve error‑proofing systems and update shop backups.
- Manage logic changes for PLCs, HMIs, cameras, and drives.
- Implement controls‑area improvements for manufacturing processes, upgrade obsolete devices, and introduce new technologies where needed.
- Validate all changes in machines and processes, incorporating continuous improvement feedback.
- Develop, install, commission, and document PLC and HMI programs for Allen Bradley and Siemens hardware.
