About the role:
The Victorian Sex Offenders Register was established by legislation in 2004. The register requires Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs) to keep police advised of their whereabouts and other personal details and information, for the period of their registration. The legislation is aimed at reducing re-offending, facilitating the investigation of offences and preventing RSOs working in child related employment.
Compliance Officers within the Sex Offenders Registry are responsible for coordinating the registration and reporting processes for all registrable offenders in Victoria by maintaining relevant databases and coordinating the disclosure of information from the Sex Offenders Register.
