Under close supervision, programs, operates and maintains the set‑ups of conventional and CNC machines and tools. Performs a variety of machining operations, modifies and writes CNC programs, and provides lower‑level programming and machining support.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate conventional and CNC machines and tools.
- Write and prove out CNC programs, typically two‑ and three‑axis tool paths.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose processes to eliminate variability.
- Manufacture and inspect detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machining equipment.
- Assist and instruct others in proper set‑up procedures.
- Keep the work area clean and free from safety hazards.
- Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency levels.
