Primary Responsibilities
The Chemist will be responsible for all analysis of samples in the most accurate and productive manner, within the relevant Test Method Instruction, and will assist the Section Manager in ensuring compliance with the SGS Laboratory Quality Manual and Health and Safety Procedures.
Technical Responsibilities
- Analyzing all analytical samples using correct procedures and/or methods.
- Monitoring technical accuracy of results, taking remedial action when necessary, and recording evaluation of analytical results.
- Updating internal findings, improvement requests, and keeping minutes of internal meetings.
- Generating reports detailing analytical results, including opinions and interpretations.
- Verifying instruments and assisting with maintenance of instruments and apparatus.
- Calibrating and performing minor maintenance of laboratory and preparation equipment.
