Unit Summary

The Ontario Heath West Diagnostic Imaging Central Intake office is a single regional office that will receive referrals from referring providers and route the referral to the appropriate hospital within OH West based on a set of criteria to equalize the wait time for patients. It is a fast paced, high volume department.

As a member of the team, the Central Intake Clerk applies knowledge of the Central Intake E-solution and other related booking guidelines to route the referring provider requests for medical procedures or exams to the appropriate destination within 27 hospital systems across the Ontario Health West Region. May be required to work with multiple computer programs and to coordinate with the appropriate health care team members.Performs a range of other administrative duties to support the operations of the unit.
