Cashiers are responsible for processing customer transactions at a point of sale. This involves accurately scanning items, collecting payments, issuing receipts, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and professionally.
- Scan items accurately using a point-of-sale system.
- Collect payments from customers, including cash, credit cards, and other accepted forms.
- Issue receipts and provide change to customers.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve basic customer service issues.
- Bag and wrap customer purchases.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Follow all store policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
