Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
- Scan items, process sales, and handle cash, credit, debit, and other payment methods.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change when necessary.
- Assist customers with price checks, product locations, and basic inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Balance cash register and ensure accurate transactions at the end of the shift.
- Follow store policies and procedures, including handling returns and exchanges.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may accept students or those without a diploma).
- Experience: Prior cashier or retail experience is a plus, but many employers provide on-the-job training.
