Job Overview
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: at heights, noisy, dusty, outdoors. Work setting: construction at various locations, both commercial and residential. Level of expertise: maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Estimate costs and materials.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
- Supervise 1 to 2 people.
- Perform tasks with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to less than 5 years in the field.
