Job Overview

As a Cargo Handling Equipment Operator you will be responsible for the efficient, planned movement of containers in compliance with safety, quality, time, and cost guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Upon reporting for work: Attend toolbox meeting to understand expected outgoing and incoming cargo, any cargo requiring special handling, port time of vessels for the day, and cargo stowing plan.
• Ask the CY leader for unit assignment.
• Perform inspection of the assigned unit using the equipment and safety inspection checklist.
• Strictly and consistently comply with safety 2‑pulse guidelines for operations and equipment handling.
• Immediately report any unusual behavior or response of the unit in use and stop the unit to avoid damage and delay.
• Stop operations when risk is present in the area of operation and coordinate for it to be addressed.
