We are looking for an Ottawa-based reporter who is comfortable with economic data and can turn trends into stories. The position will begin part‑time and has the potential to become full‑time by August 2026.

MNI operates across the UK, the United States, China and Continental Europe and is owned by the Tenzing Private Equity group. We have grown 30% each of the last five years and intend to continue this growth.

As we expand our global coverage, we are looking for people who have demonstrated talent and success in all areas of their lives. You will help shape our reporting on monetary and fiscal policy in Canada, a country with a major story to tell.

Responsibilities

• Attend lock‑ups for major Statistics Canada releases (GDP, inflation, unemployment) as well as Bank of Canada interest‑rate decisions and policymaker speeches, often early in the morning.
