Job Description
Under limited supervision, responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved domestic and international vendors and placing purchase orders in response to product requirements established by various departments within the organization. Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, quality and service. Expedites the procurement of parts or materials in short or critical supply. Performs market analyses and competitive evaluations. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over‑shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. May conduct supplier site visits and rate them as to production capability, performance and delivery. May provide work leadership for lower level employees.
