The Buyer guarantees the supply of material necessary to feed the production lines, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and respecting the previously established requirements, such as price and quantity.
Manage procurement planning, release purchase orders through manufacturing requirements and lead times to avoid any shortages while limiting inventory cost; monitor KPIs and control plan.
Participate actively in supply chain activity monitoring meetings
Collaborate with production planning to ensure compliance with the customer delivery date: respond to requests for supply lead time, inform of any delay.
Propose changes to optimize flows as part of continuous improvement
Order book management (including Kanban and VMI when implemented): Track suppliers confirmations (date, quantity & price), request for deliveries reschedule-in or out, manage cancelation requests, monitor and coordinate on-time deliveries with suppliers.
