Blood Management Nurse (N3) - Selkirk

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Technical Director - Blood Management Services and in collaboration with other team members, the incumbent is responsible for:

• Providing patient care including screening referrals, patient assessment, and implementation of Blood Management strategies under the direction of the Blood Management Medical Director and Manager. This includes administering intravenous iron treatments in a clinic setting and monitoring patients as outlined in the Blood Management Iron Clinic Guidelines.
• Participating and/or leading numerous committees that review, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing processes, policies, procedures, best practice guidelines, nursing standards, protocols, and training manuals. They also work on quality initiatives, risk management, and special projects aimed at improving the continuum of care.
