Empire life is looking to hire two Underwriting Trainees to join our Retail Underwriting team.

The Underwriting Trainee works to become an underwriter through self‑study and on‑the‑job training. You will be actively involved in the underwriting process, making basic decisions and assessing risk under the moderate supervision of the Manager, Underwriting.

As an Underwriting Trainee, you’ll learn how to review life insurance applications while analyzing, assessing, evaluating, and quantifying risk based on factors such as medical history and financials. This is a paid program; you will review live cases and shadow colleagues, progressing to more independent underwriting toward the end of the training.
