Empower children in Regina, Saskatchewan as a Children's Reading Guide with Foundations Learning & Skills. Help develop reading strategies in a rewarding one-on-one volunteer role.
Foundations Learning & Skills is seeking volunteers for its Spark program to provide supportive reading sessions in elementary schools. You'll receive 3.5 hours of training and work with two students for 30 minutes twice weekly over an 8-week term. Reading sessions will be held on-site, with limited online options available.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist children in strengthening reading skills
• Attend training on effective reading strategies
• Provide one-on-one support to two elementary students
• Conduct sessions twice weekly for 30 minutes each
• Participate in agency orientation for volunteer onboarding
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Police Record Check required
