Assistant Physiotherapist

Assists the Physical Therapists in providing patient care and developing a Physiotherapy Care Plan using treatment techniques without or with the utilization of assistive medical devices or medical equipment to promote the patient’s physical wellness this includes the ability to move, prevent or reduce pain, enables and restores function and prevent physical disability. Works with other individuals and multi-disciplinary teams to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Provides physiotherapy services with direct supervision of the Senior Physical Therapists and limited to the Physiotherapy Assistant scope of practice to patients according to an established treatment care plan which is prescribed by the Consultant or the Physician and agreed upon by the patient or the patient’s relative following the clinical policy and procedures of the department.
