Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Follow recipes and prepare meals according to standards.
- Plate dishes attractively and ensure portion control.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and servers.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding food prep, delays, or issues.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure proper storage of food items.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year in a professional kitchen, cafeteria, bakery or pastry kitchen or food service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (reading recipes, measuring ingredients)
