Apprentice, Automotive Technician

The Role: Reporting to the Supervisor/designate, the Apprentice, Automotive Technician is accountable for the following:

Accountabilities:

• Assist in performing maintenance and repair activities on a variety of automotive equipment, heavy‑duty trucks, and semi‑tractors under the supervision of a Journeyperson or lead technician or designate.
• Support in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic control systems found in vehicles and equipment, including both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Assist in troubleshooting malfunctions and performing repairs as directed.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks such as inspecting and adjusting fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changing filters and oil; and lubricating vehicles and motorized equipment.
