Job Description
The Junior Welding Specialist is responsible for supporting activities related to welder qualifications, skills management and the coordination of testing with the various authorities. More specifically, you will:
- Manage welders’ qualification cards in the system and ensure qualifications are kept up to date.
- Track expiration dates and plan required renewals.
- Coordinate and schedule qualification tests with external organizations (CWB, Lloyd’s, etc.).
- Prepare the required documentation for testing and ensure compliance.
- Work with Human Resources to track skills and training needs.
- Learn and apply basic welding concepts, processes, and standards.
- Interpret drawings, codes, and procedures, with guidance as required.
- Provide technical support to the welding engineering department and to production.
