Job Description
The Port Engineer, Electrical and Automation is accountable for the maintenance and repair of the electrical and automation aspects of Seaspan Ferries’ service vessels, including LNG and Hybrid‑electric vessels. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing engineering problems on board, providing repair recommendations, managing planned maintenance, coordinating work orders for vessel refits, and mentoring shipboard engineers.
Note: Due to business needs, this position requires full on‑site presence at 7700 Hopcott Road, Delta.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to electrical issues reported by vessel crew or on‑board engineer, assess feasibility of repairs while the vessel is in service.
- If a repair necessitates removal from service, establish estimated downtime and collaborate on a schedule with customer service.
