Island Health has an opportunity for a full‑time Anesthesiologist to join their team at the Comox Valley Hospital.
The Comox Valley Hospital is a new 150‑bed community hospital with state‑of‑the‑art facilities. There are six operating rooms, five of which are operationalized and one reserved for emergency caesarean sections.
Functions: Provide anesthesia for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, ECT, Cardioversion and assist with emergency intubations in the ER and ICU. Run a consultation clinic and an out‑of‑OR “Rover” position.
Weekday call: starts at 1500 and ends at 0800 with mandatory on‑site coverage until 2000, then home call. Pre‑call and post‑call are off. Weekend and stats: 24‑hour call 0800–0800 with mandatory on‑site coverage 0800–1200.
